A 4K label describes pixel dimensions, not the complete viewing experience. Source quality, compression, frame rate, HDR, device decoding, display settings and network stability all matter.

01

Confirm the complete 4K chain

The source, player, streaming device, HDMI path and television input must support the required format. An older box or incorrect HDMI port can limit output even when the screen itself is 4K.

02

Allow enough stable bandwidth

A practical starting point is 25–35 Mbps of stable capacity per 4K stream, with additional headroom. Ethernet or strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi can reduce variation, but speed alone cannot improve a heavily compressed source.

03

Judge motion and detail

Compare fine textures, fast movement, dark gradients and audio synchronisation. Avoid extreme sharpness or motion settings that create halos and artificial movement. Use the television information panel to confirm actual output.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is every channel 4K?

No. Many streams remain HD or Full HD, and 4K is available only for supported sources and content.

Will faster internet turn HD into 4K?

No. Speed can prevent buffering but cannot add source detail that is not present.

Do I need a special HDMI cable?

Use a certified cable suitable for the resolution, frame rate and HDR format required by your devices.
